The establishment of SZU Education Foundation for Civil Engineering:

At the venue of the 30th Anniversary of Shenzhen University and the Third General Meeting of the Civil Engineering Alumni Association, three well-known alumni, Xueqin Deng, Yibiao Li, and Xuechun Lin reached a consensus on how to thank the alma mater and give back to the college. They planned to initiate the establishment of the Education Foundation for Civil Engineering, Shenzhen University. Then, the foundation immediately received support from alumni Weiwen Zhang and Haifei Pan, directly resulting in establishment of the foundation. Civil alumni hope that the establishment of this foundation will allow more people to participate in education and research-related projects, and simultaneously award teaching aids to allow civil engineering alumni to give back to the society. The original registered fund of the Shenzhen Education Foundation for Civil Engineering totaled 18 million yuan, of which Xueqin Deng (1985-class), chairman of the Central Group, Xuechun Lin (1989-level), chairman of the Yongxin Group, and Yibiao Li (1990-class), chairman of the Coast Group, donated 5 million RMB respectively, and Nanli Decoration Chairman Weiwen Zhang (1990-class) donated 2 million RMB, and Haishi Group Chairman Haifei Pan (1996-class) donated 1 million RMB.

The role of SZU Education Foundation for Civil Engineering:

The foundation will carry out public welfare activities within the following business scope with the purpose of "Unifying the civil engineering alumni of Shenzhen University, Raising funds through multiple channels, Supporting the relevant education undertakings of the Civil Engineering College of Shenzhen University, and Improving the quality of education and academic standards":

1. Support the improvement of civil engineering-related teaching and research facilities (including buildings, instruments, equipment, books and materials);

2. Reward individuals and outstanding students who have made outstanding contributions in the civil industry;

3. Support poor students and supporting other matters related to education;

4. Support projects established in accordance with the donor's wishes.
