On the morning of April 09, 2021, the first academic committee of the Key Laboratory for Resilient Infrastructures of Coastal Cities, was held in the College of Civil and Transportation Engineering, Shenzhen University.

The meeting was presided over by Professor Cui Hongzhi, executive deputy director of the key laboratory. Professor Li Qingquan (secretary of the Party Committee and President of Shenzhen University), Academician Chen Xiangsheng (director of the Key Laboratory), Academician Xie Lili of Shenzhen University, Academician Xie Heping of Shenzhen University, Academician Gong Xiaonan of Zhejiang University, Academician Miao Changwen of Southeast University, Academician Wang Fuming of Sun Yat-sen University, Professor Xing Feng of Shenzhen University and Professor Xu Zhaodong of Southeast University attended the meeting. Leaders of the Party and Government Office, Science and Technology Department, Planning and Finance Department, Logistics Support Department, Human Resources Department, Laboratory and State-Owned Assets Management Department of the University were invited to attend the meeting. Professor Long Wujian, associate Professor Yang Lei, Professor Bao Xiaohua, Professor Su Dong, Professor Zhou Haijun, associate Professor Wang Yaocheng, Professor Ding Zhikun, Professor Zhai Changhai of Harbin Institute of Technology and other teachers and experts attended the meeting.

On behalf of the University, president Li Qingquan extended a warm welcome to the academic members and experts attending the meeting, fully affirmed the remarkable achievements of the Key Laboratory for Resilient Infrastructures of Coastal Cities in scientific research, discipline development and talent training in 2020, and finally presented appointment certificates to the members of the Key Laboratory.

As the executive deputy director of the key laboratory, Professor Cui Hongzhi, reported the general development situation of the key laboratory in 2020 and the work plans in 2021 to the academic committee. The deputy directors of the key laboratories, Professor Su Dong, Professor Zhou Haijun, Associate Professor Wang Yaocheng and Professor Ding Zhikun, reported the construction progress of scientific research in 2020 of the four research units respectively.

The experts of the academic committee thought highly of the the achievements of the key laboratory in 2020 and provided some constructive suggestions on how to develop the key laboratory in the future. Finally, Academician Xie Lili of the academic committee of the key laboratory gave an overall evaluation: The direction of the key laboratory is advanced and correct, and the task is clear and appropriate, as well as the progress is amazing. Academician Xie Lili also emphasized that the key laboratory should lead and promote the academic, technical and engineering development of civil engineering in the future in terms of theory and methods, and give full play to the characteristics of civil engineering of Shenzhen University.

Academician Chen Xiangsheng, director of the Key Laboratory, expressed sincere thanks to the experts of the Academic Committee for their valuable opinions and suggestions. Academician Chen stated that the future development direction of the key laboratory will closely focus on the key technical and scientific issues in the field of national strategy and major engineering construction, so as to make original contributions to the country. Finally, Academician Chen thanked the team for their hard work and thanked the experts again for their visit and guidance.
